Walking planner

Plan by time, steps or distance. The numbers come from your pace and step length, so change them to match how you walk.

Your assumptions, visible

Planners that promise exact distances hide their guesses. Here the two assumptions are right in front of you: steps per minute and step length. If you have measured your step length, it is filled in automatically. If today has a goal, one tap plans the steps that remain.

A draft, not a programme

The weekly draft simply repeats the walk on the days you choose for up to twelve weeks. It does not increase difficulty or suggest what is right for you. Export it as an .ics file for any calendar app, or copy it as text.

Questions

How many steps are in a 30-minute walk?

It depends on your pace. At 100 steps per minute, 30 minutes is 3,000 steps; at 120 it is 3,600. Count your steps for one minute of normal walking and enter that number for a personal estimate.

How is distance calculated?

Steps multiplied by your step length. Measure your step length on the Calibration page for a better estimate. It is still an estimate, not a GPS measurement.

Will StepTracker remind me to walk?

StepTracker cannot send notifications when the site is closed. Download the calendar file and your calendar app will show the walks and any reminders you set there.
