Opening your local journal…

Local means local

StepTracker is a static website. After the page loads, logging, importing, charting and exporting all happen in your browser. Your step records, notes, body mass (if you enter it) and imported files are never sent anywhere. That also means there is no recovery if the browser’s storage is cleared, so keep backups.

Delete exactly what you mean

Stored import files, step history, a single profile, or everything: each is a separate action with a plain description of what it removes. Other profiles on a shared device are never touched by deleting one.

Questions

Does StepTracker have my data?

No. There is no server, account or analytics on the tool pages. Data lives in your browser’s storage on this device until you delete it or clear site data.

How do I move my journal to another device?

Download a backup here, open StepTracker on the other device, and restore it. Merge adds records that are not already there; Replace swaps everything.

What is private mode?

For the current tab, new changes stay in memory and are discarded when the tab closes. It does not erase data saved earlier and it is not forensic deletion.

What does changing my home time zone do?

It can move sessions near midnight to a different date. The preview lists every day whose total would change before you apply it, and stored records are not edited.
